The United Arab Emirates (UAE) consists of 7 states, called Emirates, which are located in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in the South-west on the Persian Gulf.
The three most famous emirates are Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi is the capital and second largest city. It is also the center of the country's political, industrial and cultural activities.
One activity that martial arts has gained notoriety international fight against the bid.
Abu Dhabi and Martial Arts?
Sheik Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who happens to be a son of former President of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed was the driving force in introducing martial arts to his country of origin.
During his Studies in the United States, he began to learn more about taken which led to training in BJJ Jiu (-Jitsu).
A man with an open mind and a willingness to learn, Sheik Tanoon also discussed Russian Sambo, wrestling and Muay Thai in which he became an expert in everything. A true mixed martial artist!
It looks like our kind of guy!
After returning to Abu Dhabi, he immediately went about the creation of a center of battle to give his people the opportunity to study and learn more about martial arts. It has been named the center the fight against Abu Dhabi or short ADCC.
The man of vision and action that the sheikh, he presented a tournament in which the grapplers best and most famous in the world and submission fighters would compete again each other.
This tournament is simply known as ADCC World Submission Wrestling Tournament. He became <strong> </ event strong> Submission Grappling in the world and is copied in the world.
To give you an idea of the caliber of competitors who fought during this tournament are such Renzo Gracie, Royler Gracie, Mark Kerr, Tito Ortiz, Jean Jacques Machado, Rigan Machado, Rolls Gracie, Fabricio Werdum, Josh Barnett, Vitor Belfort, Ronaldo "Jacare Souza, Roger Gracie, Dean Lister, Jake Shields and well others.
