martial art school

Enter a good martial arts school that teaches you to survive! Do not spend years learning useless forms or how to use weapons that were popular in ancient societies. Who carries around a team or a sword in the real world? Find a school with a program that puts emphasis overall fitness, self-defense and survival!

Most martial artists say that your chances of surviving abduction Once the attacker gets you in his car are slim to none. Their advice is to fight for your life, because statistics show that the consequences are alarming. On Wednesday, July 28, 2004, Larissa del Mar Fiallo, Miss Dominican Republic, was assaulted by two men who tried to abduct in the parking lot of a shopping center.

What is interesting to us about this story reported by CNN.com (July 29, 2004) is that Ms. Fiallo has escaped his attackers because of his training in judo. She explained how she responded when two men tried to take him into their car and how it has reversed the biggest three occasions. The attackers eventually left the scene. Although Ms. Fiallo suffered cuts and bruises deep in different parts of her body, she survived the attack and left the hospital a few days later.

One type of school to lead quite clear that one is very traditional in that you must pay your dues by countless hours of forms and techniques that does not work in the street before the instructors give you the "secret" techniques. Do not get me forms, wrong, katas, and tradition have their place in martial arts, but not when it comes to self defense.

Schools combat sports like boxing, kick boxing, muay thai, MMA, judo, jiu jitsu and places are very good to learn, because in most cases, you get a sense of reality in training. In other words, a real live opponent resist and attack you. But there are 2 things you should be aware of when you attended these types of institutions of self-defense.

The first applies to the street. Combat sports are exactly what its name implies, a sport. Now, as I have said earlier, they are the best experience to defend yourself against another human being totally aggressive. However, as in all sports, there are rules to make the fair competition and keep candidates relatively safe. But not in the street. In the street there are no rules, makes things considered an act criminal in a combat sport is probably the best techniques for the street. So if you're in a school of combat sports to find an instructor who can teach you logic and the connection from the ring on the street.

The second is security. Instructors must simulate what might happen in the street as closely as possible, safely. If you attend a school where it is irresponsible to abandon the training or you constantly fight a lot more top students, it is only a matter of time until you get hurt. And being hurt does not go your forward in your training. It is also more difficult to defend yourself (impossible with serious injuries) when you're injured. Ancient warriors invented training martial arts to improve their chances on the battlefield. But you can never completely recreate what happens on the battlefield (or on the street) in the gym or dojo, cause then everyone would be injured or dead! Push your body and your mind is part of the martial arts training, but it is required so your body healthy and safe. It's a fine line to balance.

Most people are concerned about their safety an ever more uncertain. They want to be ready to defend themselves and their families. Years, Ms. Fiallo judo training paid off. Are you ready to fight for your life?
