What kind of martial arts should I take?

I think about taking martial arts. I did not have much previous experience, but I want a fun way to stay healthy, and martial arts seem really cool. I'm not sure what style to continue, though. Someone there suggestions, and why they like a certain style? Thank you!

If a fun way to stay healthy is your main motivation I steer away from anyone trying to push their style martial art on you because their self-assessment, it is more "realistic" martial art to beat. Many styles are very anaerobic compared to alternative choices for martial arts. What you want is a martial art school with a training regime that will focus on a lot of cardio vascular training oriented collaboration with some degree of training of force. Eric suggestions about Muay Thai is certainly qualified for that, but a Kru Muay Thai (master instructor) may not be available in your area. For all the flak he takes, there are many dojos franchise Tiger Schulmann Karate who actuall provide quality training for the kind of experience you have in mind. There is much of an enterprise of martial arts so you can expect tuition structures, testing, uniforms and equipment to be relatively high compared to other martial arts schools. The quality of training and education varies from dojo to dojo if, as it is quite a big operation and largest franchise gets the harder it is to ensure uniform quality control (and I've seen some dojos HCWs who have been downgraded). Otherwise, you can try a school that is oriented toward a competitive Olympic style sparring Taekwondo dojang or as some judo dojos. Training in schools, regardless of how some may feel about the effectiveness of self-defense, is undoubtedly higher in the cardiovascular workout and can be very fun.

Tan Dun straddles the very different worlds of concert music and film scores, winning admirers in both. He’s perhaps best known for his score to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which shares with Hero a visual poetry that transcends the sword-filled action film genre. In Crouching Tiger, Tan Dun’s music was often striking. In Hero he often lapses into repetition and cliché, a failing compensated f…
