What martial art is sword fighting?
Does it fall into a martial art category, or is it just called sword fighting. and I’m not talking about fencing, I mean real steel Chinese swords.
Generally speaking, in chinese martial arts, weapons training, including weapons like the single and double broadswords and straight sword are part of the overall training within a particular style of martial art, e.g. the straight sword in tai chi, the double broadswords in Wushu etc.
This is in contrast to Japanese martial arts where there are martial arts entirely dedicated to swordplay or certain aspects of swordplay, e.g. kenjutsu, iaido etc.
