tae kwon do forms on the outside?
I am always off balance (which is not very good anyway) and I wondered if other practitioners use shoes and what kind they use to make forms on the outside on the grass. It is chaotic and bumpy, very different from a dojang.
You need practice on this type of terrain. That's how we end up learning the balance. If you have a hard time keeping your balance and you fall on when you are outside, you need to browse your positions and train your best basis. Some exercises you can do to help are: standing before a mirror, and align yourself properly, look at yourself in the mirror facing it and two on the side face. Adjust your position until you can feel your weight is distributed evenly on both legs and all of your feet. Feel your chest and adjust if necessary so that you feel the weight resting on the pelvis. You want to make sure you are not leaning forward or backward, because it a great reason to drop or scandal when you make your Kata. After you play your position you can then move to the transition from position to position. Do it to a medium to slow pace. Once you are able to seamlessly transition to this slow pace, you'll get your balance and will not be a problem with moving fast. It is essential that you learn balance and have a good base or any techniques that you run will work. You must also be able to work on any type of terrain you never know when you're in a situation of self defense and what type of soil, it will take place.
