How long does it take to get a black belt in Taekwondo?
I’m a green belt in Taekwondo an I would like to know how long it will take for me to get a black belt from there.
Look at it this way, A Black belt is when you are really able to START learning. It is the beginning, not the ending. Look at the black belt as a high school diploma. How many marketable skills do you have coming right out of high school? Compare to what kind of skills you have after college or grad school, or a combination of education and work experience.
The black belt depends on your commitment. What the black belt does for you depends on the dojang, type of instructor, quality of instruction, your physical, mental, and technical growth into the rank.
Hang in there your black belt will come soon enough, it is afterwards; that is where you really grow.
