world class martial arts
What martial arts would be better off without?

I had a bad day in class, I'm a little vent (I apologize). Is it me or do the same things keep creeping into the world of martial arts that drive us all batty? Some things I wish not exist for the benefit of all in any martial art. For example, I wish people would not intended as sensei or master. It simply false. I wish people would stop calling a katana a new "samurai sword" because the samurai are all dead (get over it!). I hope that people understand you can not know sh * t exclusively from books or the Internet. Finally, I wish that schools would belts kiddie award black, then they should be called to handle the same responsibilities as adults we are black belts. It pisses me off to see them laugh, miss classes for other sports, and always have the same rank I do when I conduct myself and going to class all the time. Someone else wants to share referrals?

Hi there Welcome to the Western world of martial arts. Many problems can be collected in a few short words 1. ego. People who have very large ones should not just be training. Do not blame the student of his thought the fault of the teachers to form in the first place! 2. Policy. Yes it is an old beast that comes up from time to time. It stunts the development of links between students and the hands of good teachers who just want to train. The big fish in little ponds are mainly to blame. As they say, the formation of grass and building the empire! 3. Money. This should always be something for later. So that instructors can pay their rent and equipment so that all the money is good for. 4. TV. Oh boy is the digital stuff to blame for all that. It distorts young minds and the recent trend shows helpful Nor. School Boy martial artists reading this month's copy of the magazine battle. Great stuff! 5. Forms. Forms are good if interprited the right path. Its not to the perfect shape or do for the show. They are fighting techniques. If you do not understand the principles of what they are trying to teach then it just painting by numbers. Good for show and competition, but the heart and soul has been lost. Regarding the training of children. nothing wrong with that, but the belt for black children is not a rank adults and their classes must be separated. Discipline is for parents not art. There are no masters in the west. You want to train with them you go to Japan! People who say their arts are samuari should check to see if this they do is Koryu. Most arts are not even 100 years and are variants of modern times. Thats my gripes to air. lol;) Best wishes IDAI
