Where can I train for Wushu? I really want to learn wushu, can someone help me?
I really want to learn wushu although I can only train every weekend. I heard that the Wushu Federation of the Philippines is near Rizal Stadium. The problem is that I am not sure if they accept beginners or if it is only for Team Philippines. I have no background about any type of Martial Arts, but I am eager to learn. Please help me. : D
Hello Maan! You are actually closer in finding a Wushi academy in your area. Try contacting the Wushu Organization and ask if they can refer schools or certified instructors available in your area. In reference to the first poster regarding the training house, I must respectfully disagree. with all the sincerity of my response, training online, videos, or books without the necessary training and advice from a certified instructor of martial arts are rarely a path one can choose whether they want to succeed and progressed as a serious martial artist and decicated. Self-training using video, Internet and books can not turn you into a good or an effective martial arts practitioner. Many may say that Bruce Lee did, but how many have forgotten that Bruce Lee had a solid martial arts experience before venturing to create Jeet Kune Do. Another negative result, training online videos, or books, is that this means teaching method may not correct or advise you, or you do things or same false. The martial arts training and instruction without adequate supervision may also cause minor or serious injury. Learning martial online videos or books can be best described with a line of romance books or videos. You do not understand the real thing! You might think you may have discovered the ultimate and less expensive training in martial arts, but when reality strikes, the facade and sloppiness of your "self-training" displayed. The worst that can happen is to also have a false sense of security. Most self-taught, Blackbelt nickname, MMA poseurs and wanna-be fraudulent other martial arts "practitioners" are one of the main reasons why the public looks down on martial arts and its practitioners. Many times legitimate practitioners of martial arts regardless of style that is terribly frustrating and horrible when we spent half of our life trying to live up to the highest quality and virtues of our beloved art. For longtime practitioners of martial arts training video or other forms of training such as DVDs and the Internet are just another "tool in our toolbox" Hope it helps!
